Nursery (Birth to 30 months) “PBC Cares” is the slogan for our Church Nursery led by Julie Lacy and Melissa Jefferson and staffed by Care Groups comprised of loving, faithful, caring adults. Available for all worship services and churchwide events, our new Nursery facilities provides a clean, well organized, and a safe haven for little ones. Toddlers (Ages 2½ - 3) Beginners (Ages 4-5; Pre-K to K) Our adult volunteers in our Beginners are "pros" at reaching children of this age for Christ. Using relevant, easy-to-understand Bible lessons packed with fun songs and hands-on activities, these ladies make Sunday School for four and five year olds a memorable experience. Children who are age six but not yet in the first grade will also fit well in this group. Primaries (Grades 1-3) Our Primary Department is led and maintained by qualified, dedicated adult workers who seriously love children. Parents of first to third graders find their children receive a balanced diet of God's Word and occasional fun activities at PBC. Juniors (Grades 4-6) Our Junior Department is in good hands. We are fully staffed with personnel who genuinely understand this age group and love to spend time preparing to teach them the Word of God. By the time they graduate from this department, students have become acquainted with countless biblical principles to better prepare them to enter the age of adolescence. FOUR CHILDREN'S CHURCHES While the adults are in the main auditorium enjoying the worship service, four separate Children's Churches (ages 2 1/2-3; ages 4-5; ages 6-8; ages 9-11) are underway. A total of 36 dedicated, qualified, loving adult volunteers make up the ministry force that propels these four churches. Each Sunday the children enjoy high-energy praise and music before separating into their particular age-appropriate lesson groups. Following their lesson each group returns for a concluding assembly that usually involves healthy snacks and perhaps a great video or activity. Now, parents can relax and enjoy their worship experience, knowing their child is doing the same in one of our nearby Children's Churches. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL In the past, our summer Vacation Bible School has followed the pattern of typical traditional summer programs. However, we are constantly evaluating this ministry to determine more effective ways of reaching the children in our community with the gospel and grace of Jesus Christ. Regardless of the summer program we select, parents can rest assured our VBS will be led and staffed by equipped, dedicated, and loving volunteers from PBC. SUMMER CAMP Camp Minnetonka in Oklahoma is the usual place to be for our Children's Camp in July. Children who have completed the first grade to the sixth grade find this week full of fun games, exciting crafts, great music, captivating sports, practical Bible lessons, and "yummy" camp food. (Well, okay. The food is tolerable. Ha!) Come join us if you really want to know what camp is all about! CHILDREN'S CHOIR & DRAMA Led by experienced and faithful adults, our Children's Choir and Drama Ministry is one of the favorite among the PBC family. Several qualified, fun-loving adults prepare these little ones to sing and act their way into the hearts of everyone. You'll find a place for children ages three to sixth grade in this ministry. This special ministry to children meets during the school year, but takes a vacation during the summer months. Word of Life Ministries Though the Word of Life Ministries have been around since the 1940’s, it’s relatively new to Texas . In fact, Pleasantview Baptist Church is one of the first churches in our area to begin this Bible-based, discipleship program for families. Children from ages 2½ to high school seniors enjoy memorizing the Word, learning the Word, and applying the Word as they grow closer to the Lord and deeper in their faith. Our Word of Life for children began February 2008, meeting on Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. Like most programs of this sort, our Word of Life will extend from fall to spring, but take the summer time off to allow for VBS, summer camps, and family vacations. Visit the Word of Life website at www.wol.org for more information, or better yet, come see it in person and be a part of this vital ministry! |
